I think it’s safe to say that I have “aged out” of the majority of music that is honored at the MTV VMA’s. I have no idea who preformed, won or lost-but did enjoy the pre and post Red Carpet shows. The VMA red carpet is always a little less main stream style wise and definitely more cutting edge than a Hollywood red carpet. Stars take more chances, show more leg, more skin-in general more everything! Below are notable looks from the night…my winners, losers and most improved on the VMA red carpet.
~Red is red hot on the carpet! Both Nina Dobrev and Demi Lovato are rocking it. I love both of these dresses. You can see how both of these dresses would “runway to realway”. Nina’s high ponytail is so on right now-and relatively easy to duplicate. Their accessories are minimal-an A+ in my book. Less is more ladies!~
~ These two women always shine bright on the red carpet. I’m not sure if E! News Correspondent Ali Fedotowsky has on a jumper or dress…but I love it! Her simple updo and majorly on-trend silver tribal necklace complete this LB…whatever! 17 year old Chloë Grace Moretz has flawless red carpet style. She shied away from convention and arrived on the VMA red carpet in a look from Louis Vuitton. Her high neck textured red sweater and pink trousers are accented by a studded belt and neon sandals. Perfection! For more shots of Chloe’s look…click here. ~
~ Pretty Little Liar Lucy Hale has the two-piece look to a tee!! Her leather halter and tea length skirt are feminine and elegant with a bit of edge appropriate for the event. I love her messy pony…it works perfectly with her look. Though ModFam star Sarah Hyland looks like she is about to punch someone in the face-her navy gown from Kaufmanfranco and gold cuff bracelets are a winner. ~
~ Most Improved for the night goes to two of my least fav’s on the carpet Miley Cyrus and Kesha. What can you say accept Keep trying girls…little girls world wide idolize you! ~
I did have one final slide of my two least fav’s of the night. Consistently tacky…no need to be negative and illustrate that point here. Lavie is a happy place! What was your favorite look/performance/couple from the VMA’s. Do tell!
Have a great week friends! XOXO, Catherine
