Rainy days=Research days! This weekend provided lots of both! Fun finds…
~Favorite website Refinery29.com has a fantastic pictorial on the Best Fall Haircuts from LA’s top stylists. Picture me with the #LOB after my appointment tomorrow with Amy at Willow! I’m dying to change it up…but in typical Catherine fashion want to start small-I think this is the way to go.
~Say Goodbye Gracie! So sad to see this single man of the world off the market! Consummate bachelor George Clooney tied the knot this weekend with human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin. Although their wedding day photos were sold exclusively to Vogue (for charity of course) People.com has a Wedding Weekend Photo Editorial chock full of snaps from the weekend long nuptials. “A-listers” including best man Randy Gerber and Cindy Crawford, Charleston transplant and Clooney co-star Bill Murray, Vogue editor and chief (bad ass) Anna Wintour, Bono, Matt Damon and wife Luciana feted Amal and Clooney up and down the canals of Venice. I wonder what happened to my invite?!
~WhoWhatWhere.com has three YouTube tutorials full of fashion advice on everything from how to style your look to appear taller & yea or nay…the midi-skirt. The videos give great information and in typical WWW form you can easily shop the suggested looks. I love this monochromatic culotte pant suit from Reformation. Who knew YouTube would become a fashion/beauty resource??!
~Upscale shopping hub NET-A-PORTER.com reportedly sold out of 900 units of $200 Karl Lagerfeld Barbie dolls in record time this morning. Ebay already has KL Barbie for sale…bids start anywhere from $900 to $3500 dollars. I have to admit…I wish I had been on it. The doll looks like Lagerfeld himself…complete with his disdainful half frown, snow-white mane and ever-present finger gloves. LOVE IT!
~It’s official…I love the SCI-Fi novel! I’m not sure when this happened, but I am fully into this genre! I am currently reading (and will finish tonight) Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Station Eleven chronicles the lives of those who remain after the world as we know it ends. It is a unique vision of how humanity survives once all modern conveniences fall to dust. I can’t wait to see how it ends.
My team lost this weekend…but it was fun to watch! What will the work week entail??! We shall see!
Oh-I’m headed out of town with friends this weekend and need a fall salad recipe! Any suggestions??! Let me know…XOXO, Catherine
