I can not believe it’s December. I don’t know about you…but this one snuck up on me! Work is in no danger of slowing down, fun parties and holiday obligations are ramping up-it can be a lot! When it’s most hectic I have to take a beat, read a page, work it out, etc or I’ll go bonkers! Here is a look at some of my quiet moments for December. Enjoy!
~I’m Reading: A Paris Winter by Imogen Robertson is a novel about a young English art student living on the edge of financial run and hunger in Paris at the turn of the 20th century. Fate throws her an opportunity to continue her studies without the constant threat of ruin…but all is not what it seems. An easy read, cozy up by the fire, quick to the finish novel. I recommend!
I’m Ordering: Another attempt at keeping my hair smooth in the humid Charleston climate, Purely Perfect Cleansing Cream. This “un-shampoo” is devoid of all harsh detergents and includes Aloe Vera and essential oils to treat, rather than strip your hair and scalp. Let’s be honest…if it works 25% of the time…it’s a success!
I’m Eagerly Awaiting: Into the Woods directed by Rob Marshall starring Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine and Depp-among many others. It looks like the typical, schmaltzy, wonderful offering we are so used to from Rob Marshall and I cannot wait! Perfect for a Christmas Day release.
I’m Glossing: I know, shocked right-a new gloss, it’s so unlike me! On a recent shopping trip a friend introduced me to Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupte #20 Nude Carat! Delish…the color is wearable on it’s own or perfect over a darker lipstick (think YSL The Mats lipstick in Rouge Rock!!).
Check out Punch Hutton’s 2014 Holiday Gift Guide on Vanity Fair online. It’s chock full of out of this world suggestions for everyone on your list! My personal favorite is one of the more subdued selections…this Clare Vivier Catchall. I might be ordering and putting this beaut under the tree for ME!
I’m Burning It: Cissy’s Post Thanksgiving Workout!!
5 Minutes of cardio (elliptical at burn, stairs, treadmill, etc)
30 second plank/20 bicycle crunches/20 pushups/20 squats
4 Minutes of cardio
15 walking lunges each leg/15 dips/1 minute plank/15 double crunches
3 Minutes of cardio
20 jump squats **these should hurt!!/20 hip lifts on back to workout hamstrings/1 minute plank
2 Minutes of cardio
50 leg lifts each side (make sure hips are square-helps glutes!!)
1 Minute of cardio
30 jumping jacks/30 mountain climbers each leg
