Holiday Happenings-this & that…

What a fantastic holiday weekend!  The weather was beautiful, the mood was bright.  It was pretty fantastic!  I went out for a spontaneous holiday dinner with girlfriends to Indaco-one of my favorite places in Charleston to nosh and be social.  We totally devoured…had the super decadent Buratta with grilled flat bread and green olives.  Followed that with family style Margarita pizza, 2 pasta’s and plenty of red wine.  Great food, eclectic scene, superb service…and amazing eye candy.  What’s not to love!

IndacoI made my annual pilgrimage to blumercury to re-load on make up and skin-care that may help my dermis through the winter months!  It was so much fun…my super sweet make-up artist gave me the full skin care work up, a new look for “winter eyes” and sent me out the door with great samples.  These are my favorites and have made it into my daily routine! Make Up

All natural Andalou Naturals employees fruit stem cell science to renew, repair and regenerate skin.  The BioActive 8 Berry Fruit Enzyme mask can be used up to three times a week post-cleansing.  It’s cool, rehydrating and invigorates skin damaged by the elements.  Not to mention the price is totally right!
My FAVORITE sample of the day is the Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate.  Smooth and silky, the concentrate began helping my dark circles after literally 4 applications.  A tad hard on the wallet, but completely worth it!
Next on the list is REN Flash 1 Minute Facial.  This definitely gets the “coolest concept” award.  Apply on clean skin massaging in circular movements.  Once your face is covered, wet finger tips and continue massaging again to activate the Vitamin C.  It makes your skin tingle and feel amaze!  Moisturize after!
I have been using Mario Badescu moisturizer and night cream for about 4 months after a recommendation from a friend.  The products are completely green, use all natural ingredients and are cost effective as well.  My girl at Bluemercury recommended the Caviar Night Cream as a more emollient cream than the Chamomile Night Cream which more suitable to warm weather.  It makes my face feel great after cold crisp days outside mixed with harsh dry office heat!
The last sample is from French Skincare line Darphin, known for the Art of Formulation.  The Intral Redness Relief serum smooths sensitive skin that is prone to redness.  Apparently, this is a product I need!

For my new toned down “winter eye” look I came home with a subtle day into night trio from Trish McEvoy including Golden Apricot & Raisin eye shadows and the Arabian Nights Intense Gel Eyeliner (similar).  The day was a complete success!

My other fun find from this weekend came from Pitt Street staple, Out of Hand.  I wandered in for a tree topper and found these beauties instead!!

Made in the Deep SouthHello my new fav!  Made in the Deep South Jewelry by Michela Swafford is the most original old/new mix I have found in forever…and right up Out of Hand’s alley!  All of the pieces start out with a vintage piece and are then deconstructed and made anew.  I LOVE…and hope that Santa brings me a piece!  We shall see!

I wish I could say that work has calmed down and I’m enjoying the holiday season…but I’m not quite there yet!  Just a few more days and the smoke should begin to clear for my favorite time of the year!!  I hope you are having a fantastic holiday season and are gearing up for the final shopping/party push!

XOXO,  Catherine
