Let’s be honest…nothing is more fun than wandering through a make-up/beauty/hair product superstore!  I was able to indulge last night after work-I desperately needed the Ulta re-load.

Ulta Reload 3

I love Jen Ann’s new line of hair products, Living Proof.  We all battle the constant humidity on the coast-my hair is super out of control during the summer months.  Her No Frizz formula works wonders and does not weigh my hair down.  Winner!

Ulta has its own line of cosmetics…perfect for the basics that you don’t want to break the bank on.  I picked up this bone eyeshadow that I wear as a base color for $7 bucks!

I recently did a purge on the nail basket…colors I still love, but are 3+ years old get thrown in the trash!  Essie is my favorite polish brand.  They go on, stay on and without a doubt have the best wand!  I picked up Haute As Hello and Topless & Barefoot for a little end of summer spruce!

I always have pressed translucent in the purse make-up bag.  Who doesn’t need the mid-day touch up??!  My product of choice is Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder in translucent.

Because there is never enough lip gloss in my life, I grabbed a Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake lip shine.  They are the best…and stay on forever!

Getting home I was delighted to find the September Vanity Fair Style Issue with Natalia Vodianova on the cover.  The photography in this issue trumps all the other annual VF issues(in my humble opinion).  The featured style icons are the most clever mix of haute couture mavens, street style fashionistas and everything in between.  There was also a page dedicated to fashion bloggers that I have not seen in past Style issues.  GO VF…way to support!

Happy Friday everyone…I am ready to the bell to ring!  XOXO,  Catherine

Summer Summer Summertime…

Summer 2014 is off to a great start! The Bday week was so much fun! My friends were beyond generous and made sure that 41 started off with a bang!!

Saturday was spent sunning with girlfriends at The Grand Pavilion on the IOP.  I wanted to be  picture ready and make sure to protect my skin from the harsh summer sun. My tendency is to go light with make up in the sun…but let’s be honest waterproof mascara and lip-gloss are a must! These are some of my summer favs!!!

20140608-215824-79104887.jpgSkinCeuticals Body Tightening Concentrate ~ SunBum SPF 30 Continuous Spray Sunscreen ~ Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color (I love this!!!) ~ Neutrogena Lip Color Stick (bright berry) ~ Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel (helps completely clean your skin after loading on the sunscreen) ~ Rimmel London Stay Blushed cheek tint ~ L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Roll-On Eau de Toilette

Revlon, Trish McEvoy, Maybelline and Cover Girl (my personal favorite) all have fantastic waterproof mascara to keep you from looking like Cruella DeVille at the beach.  What is your favorite summer beauty secret??!

Happy Monday friends…time to grind it out!  XOXO,  Catherine

Spring Steals…

I’ll admit it-I’m a makeup and skin care junkie!! I will hit the make up counter and drop a hunge in no time flat. I am loving the pastel pop of color that is so on trend this spring. Now is the perfect time to bring some life to the muted tones I have worn all winter-with a twist. I’ve given myself a budget of $50 to cover everything…from mascara to nails and everything in between. Off to Ulta to see
what I can find!

Success!  I spent $38 of my $50 dollar budget and LOVE my purchases.
*Revlon’s Pango Peach Super Lustrous Lip Gloss.  $7.99
*Maybelline Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick in pinch pink.  **perfect for the purse make-up bag $8.99
* A friend recommended Loreal’s waterproof Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara.  $8.99
*Revlon’s Illuminance Creme Shadow Palette in precious metals is my favorite pick of the day.  $5.99
*Cover Girl’s Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis Nail Polish in pink ladies.  $3.49

For being an Ulta Member, both my Maybelline and Revlon purchases were 50% off regular price.  I got a chubby stick sharpener and purse size nail files ($1 each at the register) to complete my collection and walked away $12 under budget.

Happy Shopping!
