Summer Party…

Everyone loves a summertime party…being outside enjoying cold lemonade, colder beer, BBQ, fresh peaches and hummingbird cake.  I have a big one coming up this weekend!

The biggest challenge I face when planning for one of these great summer days is-what the heck to wear…cause it is hot and humid in the  sunny south!   I started perusing my favorite online boutiques last night to see if anything jumped out-I’m thinking sun-dress that I can wear with flops.

Happy Tuesday…enjoy your day!  XOXO,  Catherine

Wiley Weekend…

In so many ways!!  I celebrated a friends 40th birthday (in a monsoon no less), started a major closet purge, finished one great read and started another and celebrated Easter Sunday with great friends in my neighborhood. There is nothing more adorable than little girls in spring dresses with coordinating bows and little boys in tiny seersucker suits.

Around the web I found this dress from Nasty Gal.  It has a low back, adorable!

Dress 1Anthropologie is having 20% off select shoes including these cuties below.  Can you tell I am digging neon this year?!

Nasty GalAnn Taylor is having 50% off your entire purchase online only.  This is a great way to replace tired work basics and pick up a couple of easy spring items such as this, these (I love the zip detailing) and this fun belt.

On a more serious note, I was reminded that yesterday (April 20th) was the 15th anniversary of the tragic school shooting at Columbine High school in Colorado.  I will always remember where I was that day watching coverage unfold of the literally unbelievable events that ended so many lives and so much innocence.  The selfless acts of sacrifice from that day prove that angels live among us and that we are all very lucky to have all that we do.  I will take that with me as I journey forward.

XOXO,  Catherine
